Ephraim Health provides health supplements, health foods, health books and much more. We are situated in sunny Mount Maunganui, in the Bay of Plenty region of New Zealand. Ephraim Health started in 2005, initially as a mail order business and has evolved to include a retail shop and an online eCommerce capability with clients in New Zealand, Australia and many other parts of the world.
The word Ephraim (pronounced e-fram) means fruitful and the coconut tree was selected as a part of our brand identity for the many life giving properties that it has provided to the people of the pacific. Like the coconut tree, we too aim to bring life giving benefits of nature to our clients and visitors to our website through the quality of the health information and products that we use and trust ourselves. This information and these products have improved and continue to give us the quality of life that we enjoy today.
A proudly owned family business, when owners Jim and Tess Maskell first started Ephraim Health they began manufacturing just Colloidal Silver Liquid and Colloidal Silver Gel . With the success of the Colloidal Silver they started adding more products that they believed would improve peoples health. This saw the addition of Vitamins, Minerals, Health Foods and Health Books. Today Ephraim Health continues to research and seek out new products that are effective in improving the quality of life for our customers. The difference between us and a pharmacy store or health shop is that we always consider manufacturing our products ourselves as a first option. This gives us control over the ingredients that go into our products. By doing so, we have at times opted for the more expensive ingredients i.e chelated minerals etc knowing that they are more beneficial for our customers. We also live by the principal "if you can't beat em, join em" and so where we can't make a product that we know is excellent we have partnered up with companies whose products we believe are the best in their respective markets.
Our Brand
Our brand is centered on the coconut tree considered the "Tree of Life" of the Pacific. Why the coconut tree. The coconut tree provides many benefits from a food source, fluid source, building materials, clothing, medicinal properties and health care needs. Once anchored the coconut tree is the strongest tree and can withstand the many forces that nature throws at it. Likewise Ephraim Health provides many health benefits to its clients and assists them to establish a foundation of wellness through strengthening the bodies natural health systems i.e digestive, circulation and immune systems. A person is far better prepared to handle the threats that every day living pose when their bodies systems are optimised to perform their proper function. We hold the belief that if you give the body the minerals, vitamins and water in the correct proportions that it needs then the bodies immune and healing systems will have the ability to minimise the health risks we face today.
